TATAMAGOUCHE: The Tatamagouche Farmer’s Market officially began its 2010 season on Saturday, Feb 6 with more than 15 vendors on site. This year the market will celebrate its 30th anniversary. The Farmer’s Market has been an engine of economic growth for many businesses and for the village itself since it opened. In 2010 major renovations will be completed at the facility, which is located at the site of the Tatamagouche Creamery Square, to provide additional space for vendors and more comfortable seating areas for guests. Each year the number of vendors increases and becomes more diverse. Local meats, fruit, vegetables, specialty food items, breads, sweets, art, soap, jewellery, preserves, chocolates, fresh fish, knives, and other hand-made crafts are among the many products that can be found at the market on a Saturday morning. Guests can also enjoy great coffee and a variety of choices for a hot breakfast. The market has become a great location to meet friends, get to know producers and share in the wonderful community that is the North Shore. The Tatamagouche Farmers’ Market is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon from February to December. People interested in becoming vendors at the market can call the Market Manager, Mary Ellen Scott at 257-1072.
